One of my favorite places in Miami to go out and shoot is Wynwood, especially at night. It’s a great spot to take people from out of town and a hot spot for all kinds of photographers. Between the endless murals, cafes, street art, and colors it makes a melting pot for everyone to enjoy. This night was pretty calm and quiet, I ended up on a rooftop for sunset then ended up on the ground level ( literally, ON the ground ) shooting light trails from the traffic. I spotted the mini cooper from across the street while walking, with the word Love painted right above it. It caught my eye, for reasons I can’t explain ( completely normal ), so I got on the ground and waiting for some car lights to go by. As usual, there’s always that one guy that asks who is famous in town, thinking I’m some kind of paparazzi. I used to get really annoyed, but at this point, I understand that many tourists come to Miami expecting to experience whatever they saw on TV or wherever. I usually just answer back with a bizarre comment back just to throw them off a bit 😉
One thing I love about not planning what to photograph when I go out randomly is that things just happen and present themselves. Especially in a decorated neighborhood like Wynwood, where you never really know what you’ll see! It’s also a great place to shoot people as well, even portraits and random people walking. Sunset makes it a perfect time to come out and do just that! If you ever need to improve your street photography, plan a trip here!
